Ascend Life Church is a Kingdom-centered community in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, dedicated to helping believers discover who they are in Christ, walk in their God-given authority, and live out their divine assignment.
Our Purpose
At Ascend Life Church, our purpose is simple — to teach and demonstrate the Kingdom of God.
We believe every person is created to live from identity, to walk in authority, and to fulfill their Kingdom assignment.
Our calling is to equip, empower, and elevate believers until their lives reflect Heaven’s reality on Earth.
Our Mission
At Ascend Life Church, our unwavering faith compels us to embrace and share the beautiful teachings of Jesus Christ concerning the Kingdom of God, as declared in Matthew 4:17.We exist to lead our congregation and community toward a deeper understanding and practical application of these timeless Kingdom principles that shape every aspect of life.
How We Live Out Our Mission
• Proclaim Kingdom Principles: We teach the same message Jesus preached—revealing the Kingdom of God as a present, transformative reality that renews hearts and restores lives.
• Equip Disciples of Every Generation: We cultivate discipleship across every age and background, helping believers mature in faith and manifest God’s Kingdom in daily life.
• Serve Our Community: We actively demonstrate Christ’s love through compassion, service, and outreach—fulfilling His command to “love your neighbor as yourself.”
• Mentor and Raise Leaders: We develop Spirit-empowered leaders who will carry the message of the Kingdom and advance the Gospel as Jesus modeled.

Identity — Living From Who God Says You Are
Everything begins with identity. We teach believers to live from the reality of who they are in Christ—sons and daughters of the King. You cannot walk in Kingdom authority until you first understand Kingdom identity.
Authority — Walking in God’s Delegated Power
Authority is not control; it’s stewardship. We have been given power and dominion to advance the will of God on earth. When believers understand their authority, they stop reacting to darkness and start manifesting light.
Assignment — Advancing the King’s Agenda
When identity and authority are established, assignment becomes clear. We exist to extend Heaven’s culture into every sphere of influence—family, business, education, and ministry.
Where We Began
Ascend Life Church began in 2023 as a simple Bible study in Baton Rouge, Louisiana — a gathering of hungry hearts seeking a deeper revelation of God’s Kingdom.
There were no stages, lights, or titles — just people coming together to encounter the presence of God and to grow in their understanding of who they were in Christ.
In those early nights, God began to reveal that this was more than a small group — it was the beginning of a movement.
Each week, lives were being transformed as the Word came alive and the Holy Spirit moved powerfully.
People began to experience freedom, identity, and purpose like never before, and it became clear that the vision was bigger than a living room.
The message was simple but life-changing: “You were created to ascend.”
To rise higher in your faith.
To think higher through renewed understanding.
To live higher by walking in Kingdom authority and purpose.
Out of that vision, Ascend Life Church was born — not as another congregation, but as a community of believers committed to living out Heaven’s reality on Earth.
From those humble beginnings, God has continued to expand the reach and influence of Ascend Life.
What started with a few voices in prayer is now becoming a house of transformation — where people from all walks of life can encounter God, discover purpose, and rise to new heights in Him.
We believe the best is still ahead.
The same Spirit that breathed life into that first Bible study continues to move today — building a church that carries the sound of Heaven and a vision that reaches beyond walls and into the world.
Pastors Jed & Sha'Myra Brumfield
Pastor Jed Brumfield is the founder and lead pastor of Ascend Life Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana — a growing Kingdom-centered ministry committed to helping people rise higher in Christ. In 2016, he married the love of his life, Sha’Myra, and together they are the proud parents of two beautiful children, Caleb and Jaed. As a family, they serve with unity, humility, and a shared passion for seeing lives transformed by the Gospel.
Pastor Jed’s ministry is anchored in the message Jesus preached: “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” He carries a unique grace for unveiling biblical truths with clarity and spiritual authority, teaching the Word in a way that renews minds and ignites identity. His heartbeat is to help believers understand who they are in Christ so they can live from their Kingdom identity, walk in spiritual authority, and fulfill their God-given assignment with confidence.
Long before Ascend Life Church officially launched, Pastor Jed faithfully served through leading Bible studies, mentoring emerging leaders, and preaching throughout various communities. His ministry has never been about building crowds, but about building strong, Spirit-filled disciples who know God, think higher, live higher, and reflect Heaven’s culture on earth.
Guided by the Holy Spirit and fueled by a deep love for God’s people, Jed leads with authenticity, conviction, and a passion for revival. His desire is simple and unwavering — to see people encounter God, discover purpose, and rise into everything they were created to be.
